Create a layout design that can reproduce stamps and banknotes in 1:1 scale, while highlighting the incredible craftsmanship and their artistic value.

EFFECT

By using negative space and contrast, the book became a celebration of Sverre Morken's life and craftsmanship.

A book project higlighting the work and life of Norway’s most outstanding banknote and post stamp illustrator. It was a great honour for me to be trusted with the design for this project.

Layout

The book contains stamps in real size. For these to get the attention and space that they deserve, the layout is built around the stamps standard sizes, with the purpose of framing the smaller images with negative space.

Contrast

The contrast between stamps in real size and full page illustrations highlights Sverre Morken’s brilliant understanding of shape, texture and size.
